Data Sources & Attribution

TCGdex — card & set data (primary)

Card names, numbers, sets, rarities, attacks, abilities, variants, and legality flags come from TCGdex (api.tcgdex.net), an open, MIT-licensed community Pokemon TCG database (github.com/tcgdex/cards-database). TCGdex is itself an unofficial project with no Pokemon Company affiliation. We snapshot the API at ingest time and record source URLs and hashes for every record.

pokemontcg.io — enrichment & cross-checks

Format legalities, National Pokedex numbers, and image URLs are enriched and cross-checked against pokemontcg.io (the Pokemon TCG API). We use it as a secondary source with attribution; where the two sources disagree we prefer the value that matches official rulings and say so in our data notes.

TCGplayer prices via TCGCSV

Market prices are TCGplayer prices for the Pokemon category, obtained through TCGCSV, refreshed daily upstream. Prices are joined to cards by TCGplayer product ID — never by name matching — and are shown per finish (normal, holofoil, reverse holofoil, vintage 1st edition / unlimited). We display market price as the headline figure and never present listing high prices as values. Prices are informational market snapshots, not appraisals or offers.

Card images

Card images are cached copies of card scans referenced by the sources above, served from our own CDN — we do not hotlink third-party image hosts. Each cached image records its source URL, checksum, and fetch date. Card artwork remains the property of its owners and is shown for identification and reference only. Set logos and symbols are shown for set identification.

Update cadence

• Prices: refreshed with each deploy (TCGCSV updates daily around 20:00 UTC).
• Cards and sets: re-ingested with each deploy, with extra runs around set releases.
• Each page footer shows when its data was last updated.

Pokemon Card List is an unofficial Pokemon TCG reference site. Card names, card images, card text, set names, Pokemon names, and related trademarks are property of their respective owners. This site is not produced by, endorsed by, supported by, or affiliated with The Pokemon Company, Nintendo, Game Freak, or Creatures.

Facts about cards (names, numbers, rarities, prices) are factual database content; card artwork, card text, and trademarks belong to their owners.
